EQ2 Summit Report I on EQ2 Vault (http://eq2vault.ign.com/static.php?page=2006summitreporti)
Another issue that was discussed was possible causes for lag issues in places like the Orcish Wastes and Deathfyst Citadel. Unknown to me but explained by the dev team was it was the orcs causing all the lag... No they didn't invent some machine to lag players out as a new kind of challenge it was more specific to the model orcs are using. The current orc models can wear armor just like players. So that means that when you enter Deathfyst Citadel its like every Orc in there uses the same resources as that amount of players. One thing that was not foreseen but kind of works out well is the story line that we have seen beginning on the Ruins and Sprawl areas where the Rujarken Orcs have begun to supply the Bloodskulls with armor and weapons. Since the character model is changing to that of a model that does not render the tons of armor graphics performance should get better.
