CCP and the EVE CCG at Gencon (http://feeds.feedburner.com/eve-blog)
For those that have missed it, CCP is in the final stages of releasing a Collectible Card Game (CCG) based on this wonderful universe of ours. Currently, you can pre-order Megapacks (http://www.eve-ccg.com/), preview some cards (http://www.eve-ccg.com/pdf/EVE_CCG_Preview.pdf) and even download the rulebook (http://www.eve-ccg.com/pdf/EVE_CCG_Rulebook.pdf). Pre-orders should be shipping within the next two weeks, just in time for you to receive them, play around with them and bring them to Gencon.
That's right, CCP is going to have the official CCG launch at Gencon Indianapolis (http://www.gencon.com/2006/indy/) next month. From 10 to 13 August, Gencon attendees will have the opportunity to check out the game, chat with Devs from the CCG and online game, participate in demonstrations of both games, go head to head with other EVE CCG players in the first official CCG tournament and lots more. We're even going to have an EVE Store where you will be able to purchase decks and other selected EVE swag.
EON Magazine #5 (https://secure.eve-online.com/eon/)
Those of you eager to take out a new subscription to EON will be pleased to know that the sales page has been updated. You can subscribe from (or buy single issues of) mags #2, #3, #4 or #5 - bearing in mind that #5 won't be ready for shipping until 6th October. We're running dry of number twos (which I'm sure conjures up a healthy image), so if you want to read DigitalCommunist's round-up on battleships, stare lovingly at the norks on page 56, or read Nyphur's excellent guide to Tanking, now's pretty much your last chance to get hold of a copy.
