Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan: Hands-On on IGN (http://pc.ign.com/articles/695/695188p1.html)
Square created the Besieged mode so players could defend their towns from monster-invasion. In our town, we took on hoards of giant lizard monsters that were out for blood. Think of Besieged as the battle for Helm's Deep in Lord of the Rings. The enemies just keep coming and they don't stop. This was the international debut of Besieged -- no one outside of Square had ever played the mode before and the throngs of fans whooped and hollered when they found out.
