Solar System Studios has been in the industry for around four years as a Design Consultancy company. Now we are taking that big step from small indie to full on Commercial Game Development. At the moment we are looking for skilled individuals who would voluntarily join us to aid in creating our Design Pitch Demo.


Producer:

As a production director you are asked to keep track of the team, You will also work very closely with the CEO, Art Director, and Lead Game Designer. Your tasks will be to manage the team and motivate them to work. You will also have the option to organize the production of the Pitch Demo were all work is assets by the Lead Game Designer.

Organization is a key in MMO development and we are asking for a very organized person. You don't need previous industry experience although it is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Perform Project management administrative functions – establish/maintain project procedures, facilitate status meetings, produce status reports, maintain project budget and distribute project documentation and schedule. Identify and resolve conflicts between schedule, budget and design goals. Resolve or escalate relevant issues in a timely fashion. Coordinate with staff and manage task interdependencies to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Must proactively track and maintain the schedule daily, identifying and fixing problems early before they become a bigger issue. Facilitate and drive communication between internal and external development teams and the publisher. Create and update information to provide ‘real-time’ visibility of shared development efforts. Proactively identifies risks associated with meeting project milestones; ensures necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve difficulties which may impede progress or compromise achievement of project objectives. Identify, contract and direct individuals or organizations outside the project in the creation of assets such as independent contractors, talent, music, sound, voice and video production. Manage external developers and contractors to contractual requirements. Foster positive working relationship and teamwork within the development teams with an emphasis on communication. Drive communication among all team members.

Required Skills & Abilities:

4+ years experience with video game production on multiple platforms. Experience working with quality assurance teams. Proven team player and motivator. Extremely organized, self directed & detail oriented with a very consistent follow through. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Ability to create, track and maintain comprehensive project schedules & budgets. Proactive in identifying inefficiencies in production pipeline and proposing sensible solutions. Skilled at distributing information and maintaining communication among many groups. Must be able to work easily across disciplines and divisions.


Environment Artist (Level Designer)

4 positions available

The Level Designer is responsible for creation of the game worlds. Using Bigworlds Bigbang editor the environment artists can with ease modify terrain in real-time and place content in real-time within the game. The Level designers will be working with the game designers to ensure the vision and visual properties of the game is kept.

Responsibilities:

*Creation and maintenance of the game worlds
*Creating next generation visually stunning terrain and environments
*Creating suitable environments to the MMO genre

Requirements:

Experience playing massively multiplayer online games.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent understanding in MMO design & environmental work
Content placement skills which graphical enhance worlds
Terrain generation and organic content generation (using the tools provided)


3D Artist:

5 positions available

A 3D artist must show high knowledge and understanding of the work he/she has to task in hand. Modelling from pictures/descriptions/and concept the artist must be able to create high quality models for in game.

Environmental (world designers)
Items, weapons
buildings
If you specialize in more than one that is a extra and will be noticed in the interview.

We support, Maya, 3ds Max 7+, Wings 3d, MilkShape, Truespace 3d.


Note: We like to see the artists as very imaginative and show a wide interest and accessibility into there creative minds. Working with the game designers through visionary and descriptive speech/documents you then must translate it into forms of artwork which then can be passed onto the next phase and ready for the 3d art department.


Concept Artist:

5 positions available

As a Concept Artist you will be responsible for creating original artwork for game design documents and promotional material. This will involve the design and visualization of characters, vehicles and environments

Description:

Applicants should be skilled in level of design and sketch art and crafting; objects, buildings and also characters (may apply). Terrain sketching and environmental work is a must within a artist. Applicants should also have experience working within technical design parameters and also graphical enhancement and show a great determination on construction and fine art. Applicants should be able to work with the game engine concept in order to produce, design or creative an ideas roll, the ability to work from concepts and the ability to collaborate within a team environment to create the visually stunning results required for best quality work.

Responsibilities:

Working directly with the Art director. You are responsible for creating the concepts. Participate in a weekly Artists and Animators meeting, to communicate the weekly planning and review work in progress.

Photoshop or other experience with photo editing software
Sketch, Fine Print Concepts
Create work flow and schedule
Meet project deadlines and milestones as set by Lead Art Director.
Assist within the project borders
Have 1+ years of applicable experience of a Concept Designer (2D)
